Sustainability at Finca La Holandesa
Finca La Holandesa is a self-sufficient farm committed to sustainability. We limit and reuse water waste, create our own natural fertilizers, and maintain a healthy ecosystem with sloths, toucans, goats, and free-roaming chickens among other wildlife!
We also reuse coffee by-products in creative ways, from making prototypes like sunglasses using coffe by-roducts and biopolymers, to upcycling coffee cascara (the dried fruit skin and pulp of the coffee cherry) into teas, chocolates, and other innovative products that will soon be available in Europe.
Certifications, Knowledge, Quality & Community
Finca La Holandesa is a proud member of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). Our team has completed a wide range of SCA-certified courses, including Green Coffee, Roasting, Barista, and Cupping (CVA for Cuppers).
We also have certified Arabica Q Graders through the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI). Our processing team brings strong technical expertise, with one member holding a Master’s degree in Agriculture and another holding a B.Eng in Process Engineering.
We are fully committed to training and continuous professional development, with all team members actively involved in growing their knowledge and skills.
